CBS 'Person of Interest' Who gives John Reese a deadly mission on a plane?

The crime drama “Person of Interest” (CBS) can be seen each Tuesday evening at 10/9 p.m. Last night's episode on Jan. 14, 2014 was called, “4C.” In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 12.35 million TV viewers overall. It reached 2.0 million TV viewers in the all important 18 to 49 adult demographic. “Chicago Fire” grabbed 6.61 overall & 1.8 with adults. “Killer Women” (ABC) continues to drop after second episode grabbing 3.46 overall & 0.7 with adults.

The government is watching you & there are cameras everywhere. “4C” opened with John Reese waiting at the airport terminal heading out of the country to Istanbul, Turkey. He looks as if he hasn't shaved in a few days & is drinking some alcohol. His flight was booked & then changed to first class with a stop over in Rome, Italy. The flight attendant calls him Mr. Wylie.

There are federal marshals on the flight & John finds one of them knocked unconscious in the lavatory. He calls Harold Finch & asks him to stop giving him “Numbers” because he quit his job. Harold tells him that he never sent a job mission & didn't put him on that flight. It was the “machine” who sent him on that mission.

Owen Matthews works for a company that hosts a website called, “black market bazaar” that sells drugs for huge amounts of money. The other federal marshal on the plane is drugged & John knocks out the hit-man who tried to kill Owen. Harold asks Samantha to find out why the “machine” sent John on this mission to an international court hearing.

Raphael Hernandez is the head of the Colombian cartel who sent one of his henchmen to kill Owen. John finds out that Owen built the black market bazaar program for “the sphinx” who is being investigated. Owen is also the only eye witness who can describe “the sphinx.” The couple who were supposed newlyweds attack John on the plane. Another unknown male also tries to kill Owen. A lot of people want him dead on this flight.

John realizes that Owen didn't just build the website program. He stole money from all of the people who bought the drugs. - Can John still protect Owen from the plane load of men who want to kill him? Will Samantha find out why John was sent on this flight? Who really is “the sphinx?”
