The TV action / drama called “Person of Interest” can be seen each Tuesday evening on CBS at 10/9 p.m. Last night's season premiere episode on Tuesday Sept. 24, 2013 was called, “Liberty.” The show garnered 12.29 million TV viewers & reached 2.3 million TV viewers in the all important 18 to 49 age demographic. The TV drama is now in its' third TV season & stars Jim Caviezel (John Reese), Taraji P. Henson (Detective Joss Carter), Kevin Chapman (Detective Lionel Fusco) & Michael Emerson (Harold Finch).
According to the official website for “Person of Interest” the synopsis is right here. It is “A crime thriller about a presumed dead former-CIA agent, John Reese who teams up with a mysterious billionaire, Harold Finch to prevent violent crimes by using their own brand of vigilante justice.”
“Liberty” opens with John Reese doing his job undercover. Harold Finch is also trying to work with another agent Samantha Shaw (Sarah Shahi) whose answers are used by a gun. Harold & John find the next “Person of Interest” to help stay out of trouble. His name is Jack Salazar who comes into New York City during fleet week with the Navy. John finds Jack in a bar where a fight breaks out between the Navy & the Marines.
There are 6,000 navy boys in town & John lost Jack after the bar brawl. Jack used to be a petty thief as a teen who ended up in jail, but decided to go into the navy. Meanwhile, Root aka Caroline Turing (Amy Acker) is in a psyche ward after a nervous breakdown last TV season. She planned & schemed her way into stealing the system that Harold Finch built many years ago. (The secret cameras that watch us all).
John goes to detective Joss Carter to help find Jack. She was downgraded to a uniform cop after the shooting of a fellow detective last season. She leads John to an underground nightclub where they accidentally run into Jack. He later leaves the club to head back to the ship when he is stopped by a Marine who wants something from him. John follows close behind ready to intervene, but Jack is shot in the shoulder.
Jack's friend smuggled uncut diamonds into the U.S. He hid those diamonds in a pack of cigars carried by Jack. The black-ops Marine kidnaps the friend & ties him to a rigged bomb. Jack is forced to make an exchange with the diamonds & the money given by Russians.
Does Jack return the diamonds? Will John & Harold help Jack survive this altercation? Who gets killed after bodies pile up in the streets?
