CBS 'Person of Interest' explosive season finale has 'machine' taking over

The crime drama “Person of Interest” (CBS) can be seen each Tuesday evening at 10/9 p.m. Last night's episode on May 13, 2014 was the season finale called, “Deus ex Machina.” In the overnight TV ratings it garnered 10.83 million TV viewers overall. It reached 1.9 million TV viewers in the all important 18 to 49 adult demographic.

Chicago Fire” (NBC) grabbed 7.09 million TV viewers overall & reached 1.9 with adults. “Celebrity Wife Swap” (ABC) nabbed 2.78 million TV viewers overall & reached 0.9 with adults

Person of Interest” stars, James Caviezel (John Reese), Kevin Chapman (Lionel Fusco), Sarah Shahi (Samantha Shaw), Amy Acker (Root) & Michael Emerson (Harold Finch).

The government is watching you & there are cameras everywhere. “Deus ex Machina” opened with news reports of New York City losing electricity as the lights go dark. The group called, “vigilance” has locked down a court room & the trial of those running the “machines” has begun. The accused is Harold Finch who built the first “machine.” John Greer who stole the second “machine” called, “samaritan” & “control” who wants ownership of the second machine.

John & Samantha are still trying to find Harold who decide to make a run for the court house in the dark. The trial is streaming online world-wide with 12 million viewers and counting. “Vigilance” brings in a defense lawyer, a jury & the media to cover this trial. The first witness gets hysterical & “vigilance” shoots him to death in front of everyone.

Root has told Samantha that she is getting close to the second machine “samaritan.” John goes to the streets to find the best way on how to reach Harold in the courtroom. In flashback, Peter Collier is kidnapped by the group “vigilance” & he is interrogated by a computer machine. He is paid a huge amount of money to join this group & he accepts.

Peter wants to know who started “Northern Lights?” It was made known to the public that “Northern Lights” was a group that practiced wire-tapping within the US government. Peter orders senator Ross Garrison to the witness stand. As they argue over facts, Garrison blames “control” (female) who is forced to take the witness stand too.
