CBS 'Money Watch' anchorman arrested for choking his TV reporter wife

A NYC anchorman, who was arrested for choking his TV reporter wife over the weekend, is due in court facing felony charges Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, according to the Chicago Tribune. This incident turned out to be a bizarre turn of events for this couple, as they are usually the ones reporting on crimes like this, but today they are the headlines.

Rob Morrison, an anchor for CBS News “Money Watch,” was arrested at his home in Connecticut after assaulting his wife. Darien Police said that Morrison continued to threaten his wife with harm even once they placed him in handcuffs. It was his wife’s mother who contacted police due to the domestic dispute between the two news reporters.

Morrison’s wife, Ashley, had red marks around her neck when police arrived to the Morrison home. The “Money Watch” reporter was charged with felony strangulation, second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct. He was released after he posted a $100,000 bond.

Morrison was published in the Huffington Post in 2009 with his series, “Daddy Diaries: Confessions of a Stay at Home Anchorman." The Huffington Post points out that in Morrison's mug shot, which was released by the Darien Police Department and seen above, he looks like he was in a scuffle with his lip and nose bleeding.
