“The One Percent Solution” opened with a previous storyline involving Gareth Lestrade who took credit for Sherlock's investigation. In the present day, a bomb goes off under a table in a fancy restaurant. Six people are killed & most of them were bankers. Watson walks in on Sherlock studying farm roosters in their New York house. He recently broke up a cock fighting ring.

Captain Gregson calls Sherlock & Watson to the crime scene & they are told that Lestrade will be working along side them in the investigation. Sherlock is none too happy about it. Lestrade formerly worked in Scotland Yard & he challenges Sherlock to match wits on this murder investigation.

Two of the survivors talk to Lestrade, Sherlock & Watson. Lestrade has a different approach that agitates Sherlock. A group claimed credit for the bomb & they leave a note taken from a book of meditations. Sherlock studies Lestrade on videotape & believes his work is smoke & mirrors. It seems that he wants to be like Sherlock in every way who is very smart.

Sherlock examines the seating chart of the table at the restaurant. He believes the bomb was positioned near three specific bankers. Sherlock zero's in on one of the victims as the main target named Lawrence Ivar. He worked for a bank on wall street where he made some enemies. Sherlock discovers that Lestrade might be indirectly involved with the bomb. They see him on security cameras & is acting under an assumed French name called "Jacque."

Lestrade apologizes to Sherlock on his involvement. But, isn't completely forthcoming with full knowledge of who he is or what he is doing. Watson steals Lestrade's iphone & believes he is lying about everything. Lestrade then tries to recruit Watson to be his assistant.

Can Sherlock figure out what Lestrade is up to? Was Lawrence Ivar killed because he was going to overtake his company? Did the restaurant waiter shine light on the investigation? - You can watch the full episode of “The One Percent Solution” on the official website of “Elementary.”
