A dozen female dancers practice a stage rehearsal. Someone falls from the theater rafters backstage & it is a female dancer. She dies from the fall whose body was cut in half. Her name is Nell Solange who was going to audition for the lead in the next performance. She wasn't giving it her all & was replaced by a more established dancer.

Sherlock believes Nell was murdered before she fell from the rafters. Watson sees that her throat was sliced & they find a box cutter at the crime scene with a flower on it. Iris Lanza has the lead in the next performance. She had a personalized box cutter that she claims was stolen by a fan. It was used to cut a dancer's socks. Sherlock saw her performance in Europe & he respects her dancing talent.

Iris is known for aggressively pushing paparazzi & is an angry ballet diva. She lied to the detectives about her alibi & sarcastically says that if she wanted to kill Nell. She would've found a better time. Iris threatens Captain Gregson with a lawsuit & is arrested for the murder of Nell. He lawyer bails her out of jail & Iris ends up in the bed of Sherlock which shocks Watson.

Sherlock discovers that Iris had injured her shoulder. She is also a veteran dancer who is losing her power. Sherlock believes Iris is innocent because of that injured arm who could not have lifted the body of Nell.

Who killed the rising ballet dancer? Was it her stripper ex-boyfriend? Was it the aging ballet star Iris Lanza? Was it a crazed ballet fan? - You can watch the full episode of “Corpse De Ballet” at the official website “Elementary.”
