CBS announces Amazon gets full rights to Stephen Kings ‘Under the Dome’ series

On Feb. 11 Amazon announced that it has signed a deal with CBS to offer online access to the new show “Under the Dome” based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name, according to PC Magazine. The show is being produced by Amblin Entertainment which is owned by King. The series will debut on June 24. CBS viewers will be able to watch it live from their satellite and cable companies. CBS has no plans to put the episodes on their website.

Amazon Prime members will be able to watch the show four days after they are aired for no additional fee. Non Prime members will have to purchase the episodes from the Amazon Instant Video program. Prime will have exclusive rights to “Under the Dome.”

“Under the Dome” focuses on a tiny New England town that becomes sealed off from the rest of the world by a transparent dome. What do you think King fans, will you be watching as it airs on CBS or a few days later on Amazon? Sound off in the comments below.
