Cavatore used to be an old barn and it turned into a very unique restaurant with a front paddle wheel and the high ceilings inside, and it serves delicious tasting Italian cuisine. And it is one of the few Italian restaurants in the Heights area and it is located at 2120 Ella Boulevard and the atmosphere and service is great but the prices tend to be on the middle high end scale.

The restaurant hours of operations are for lunch Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and for dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday it is open from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The overall atmosphere when you enter the restaurant is of friendliness and the service is good and you tend to see the same customers that have become habitués as well as new ones and it is a great place to have dinner with friends.

For their cold appetizers they do not have a vast choice; you can order the tomatoes with mozzarella which comes drizzled with olive oil and fresh herbs for $9, or the cold antipasto plate which includes different meats such as prosciutto and salami plus some mozzarella for $10. But for their hot appetizers you can choose from the escargot Cavatore which come with green onions and herbs for $9 or the funghi ripieni con granchio which are crab meat stuffed mushrooms, or even the ravioli con formaggio fritto which are raviolis with fried cheese for $9.

For their "piatti favoriti della casa" you can try the tournedos di manzo which is a beef fillet sautéed with Brandy for $28, or the eggplant Parmesan with marinara sauce or the Italian sausage with vegetables for $18, or even the bistecca Fiorentina which is a T-bone steak with herbs, garlic and flambéed in Brandy for $22. However they also have some good pasta choices such as the oven baked lasagna for $14 or the spaghetti with meatballs for $12 or even the linguine Giancarlo which include shrimp and calamari for $17.

But do not skip out on dessert as you can taste their tiramisu or the white and dark chocolate mousse for $6 or their delicious profiteroles with ice cream for $6.50 and you can enjoy your sweets with an espresso.
