Catwoman sprays Ozzy Osborne character in Hollywood Blvd brawl

Costumed performers along Hollywood Boulevard came to blows last night when a woman dressed as Catwoman reached her limit of tolerance and unloaded a pepper spray canister on a drunken Ozzy Osborne character. An alien and pirate soon got involved in the melee, which broke out at about 5:30 pm Thursday night.

Catwoman, who apparently requested to be referred to as such, told NBC Los Angeles that two characters who appeared to be intoxicated had been bugging her all day, pushing and bumping her as she posed for pictures, and that she warned one of them before attacking. “He was rambling nonsense and I kept asking him at least like 15 times to just go away… He was antagonizing me to do so, so I did. I said, ‘I'm giving you fair warning. If you do not get away from me I will spray you in the face.’ ”

Other characters, including Captain America and Willy Wonka, backed up her story.

This is just the latest in a string of incidents along the touristy stretch of Hollywood Boulevard outside the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the Kodak Theater where costumed characters perform regularly for tips. In 2009 Spiderman was arrested for assault, and last year SpongeBob Squarepants was arrested after harassing 2 women. Characters have also been accused of aggressively asking for money and blocking the sidewalk.
