Hello New York Doll Collectors,

More Photos

I was thinking about my childhood years of observing the collecting of superhero comic books; Spiderman, Superman, Captain America, Green Hornet and the famous Batman and Robin.

I’m a fan of comics, but I mostly enjoyed watching the television shows, like the 1966 Batman. If your a fan of Marvel superheros and villains, you may be interested in a line of dolls from Tonner Doll Company. One of the few Marvel characters, that the Tonner Doll Company has added to their line of creations, is Marvels’ Catwoman.

The Tonner Doll Company’s Catwoman, seems to have been inspired by both the Julie Newmar, 1960s Catwoman and Lee Meriwether.’s 1960s Catwoman. Some parts of the design, such as Julie Newmar’s Catwoman’s trademark medallion, was added with great effect. Then there’s the bushy or branch shape, like eye brows, the two actresses’ sported in the tv shows.

An impressive amount of detail was capture with this doll, particularly the decision of Tonner dolls, to add the technique of both actresses, of holding their cat ears together, with a mane of hair! Finally the unforgettable catsuit. Glittery and fitted.

The doll goes for the price of $199. A memorable and collectible doll, for Marvel fans and more. Look for the Tonner Batman doll, coming soon. Check details on the Tonner Doll Company website. Happy Doll Day Shopping. Visit our Gallery for photos.
