Little known fact: The original Cherubs were actually cats. Furry, adorable felines who would fly around wearing diapers, shooting arrows into people and making love connections. They served as the official mascot of Valentine's Day until approximately 95 years ago. Actually, that isn't even slightly true. But cats need love too, and All Fur Love Animal Society and The Poppy Foundation are making sure they get it.
On Thursday February 13th AFLAS hosts their fifth annual Pasta for Paws Dinner. Thirty dollars will get you delicious food, live music, amazing conversation and a raffle ticket to win fabulous prizes. All Fur Love is a non-profit animal rescue in Las Vegas providing rescue and rehabilitation for abandoned cats and dogs through outreach programs and events.
Pasta for Paws will be held at Sauce Restaurant (721 Mall Ring Circle, Henderson) from 6 PM to 9 PM. If you are interested in learning more and filling your belly for a good cause, visit their website , email them at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (702)362-5617 for details.
Once you have gorged yourself on chocolate covered strawberries, join The Poppy Foundation (6620 Sky Pointe Drive, LV, NV 89131) for their Valentine's Day for Cats on Saturday February 15th. Don't forget to bring litter, cat food and treats and your best cuddles. This 501(C)3 relies entirely on tax deductible donations to provide food, shelter and medical treatment to the kitties in their care. Visit their website or contact them at 702-228-0146 for more information.
However you spend your Valentine's Day this year, make sure to spread the love to some deserving felines.
