Cats can be potty trained too (Photos)

Cat owners can now throw away their cats’ litter boxes and forget about buying kitty litter. Cats can be potty trained too! With the invention of Litter Kwitter pet cats can now be trained to use the bathroom toilet to relieve themselves.

Jo Lapidge, a cat owner in Australia, first came up with this invention after watching the movie “Meet the Fockers,” during an outing with a friend one day.

“A girlfriend and I went to see ‘Meet the Fockers’ which featured a cat called Mr Jinx, who shared the toilet with Ben Stiller in one funny scene. This was the eureka moment for me and the genesis behind the invention of Litter Kwitter,” –Lapidge told Daily Mail U.K.

The Litter Kwitter is a one of a kind cat toilet training system that will teach any cat to use the regular household toilet instead of a litter box. The kit consists of several plastic toilet seats in different sizes. By using a step-by-step method that gradually uses the different size seats, cats are retrained to use a toilet. This method was developed by animal training and behavioral specialists and tested (successfully) by Jo Lapidge’s own cat, Doogal.

Lapidge explains that cats in the wild cover up their waste to hide the smell because the smell will attract predators. This natural instinct is still intact with domestic house cats. That is why cats dig their paws in the cat litter after relieving themselves. However, once cats dig through contaminated litter they then walk all over the home with their contaminated paws. Having their waste disappear in the water of a toilet bowl provides the same psychological reasoning for cats as does covering it with dirt. Thus, cats won’t feel the need to run their paws through dirty litter and won’t leave dirt around the home. The Litter Kwitter is the purrfect solution for everyone.
