In an interview with People magazines, Catherine Zeta Jones admits that she is 'furious' with doctors who overlooked Michael Douglas's throat cancer. "He sought every option and nothing was found. I knew something was up. He knew something was up."
According to Zeta Jones, doctors repeatedly sent him away with no answers, which delayed his diagnosis and increased the risks. While Douglas is optimistic about his 80% survival rate, Zeta Jones believes a more prompt observation would have increased those odds.
She adds that Douglas insisted on personally explaining to their two children what was wrong with him, and that it's difficult for her to watch him function on such a low level when he generally has so much energy.
