Catherine Dolan holds on to win the Prairie Invitational

The Prairie Invitational sponsored by the Kansas City Golf Association concluded play Sunday June 22 at Falcon Ridge Golf Course in Lenexa, Kan. The 36-hole event is played to determine the best female golfer in the Midwest. At the end of round one Gianna Misenhelter held a one shot advantage over Catherine Dolan in the Open Division. In the Players Division Barbara Cusick held on to be the overnight leader.

In the Open Division, gross scoring Dolan shot a final round of one over par to give her two under par 142 to take first place. Second place went to Misenhelter who shot a three over par final round ended the tournament at 143, one under par. Third place went to Baile Winslow who finished Sunday’s round at four over par and six over for the tournament.

In the Open Division net scoring Julia Misemer came in first with an adjusted score of four under par. Dolan finished in second with a score of two under par. Third place resulted in a tie between Caroline Klemp and Martha Linscott at three over par 147.

In the Players Division gross scoring Cusick was able to hold on to her lead and finish in first place shooting 12 over par on Sunday and a total of 165. Alane Studley shot 10 over par on Sunday, finishing in second with a total score of 167. Teresa Gumm also shot a 10 over par round but finished two strokes back of Studley at 169.

In the Players Division net scoring Madison Hoy took first place with an adjusted score of four under par 140. Cusick finished in second with a one under par 143. Third place went to Alane Studley who finished with an adjusted score of one under par for the final round and one over par for the tournament.
