(Cathedral City) – In an effort to increase youth input into the city’s projects and activities, the Cathedral City Council is inviting students to participate on several of its commissions and committees. “This will bring a fresh youth perspective to our commissions and committees that advise the council from Public arts to Planning,” said Mayor Kathleen J. DeRosa.
Cathedral City and Thousand Palms high school students are eligible. To apply, students should go to the City Clerk’s website and click Commission/Committee application, complete the application and return it to the Cathedral City Clerk at 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, Cathedral City, CA, 92234.
The applications will be forwarded to the City Council, and the council members will interview the applicants and make appointments. “This is a wonderful opportunity for young people to engage in our community and to have a say in its direction. I look forward to their participation,” said Councilman Greg Pettis.
