Caterina Rago Dance Company: Mar. 26-28

Join Caterina Rago Dance Company (CRDC) on March 26-28 at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center for the 2013 New York Premiere of "Fall in Autumn." The new, evening-length work - both stirring and full of emotional momentum - is not to be missed.

Artistic Director, Caterina Rago, is an up-and-coming choreographer, who hails from Italy and has made a home for her growing dance company here in NYC since 2007. She has trained with the Martha Graham Dance Company and presented her work in numerous NYC showcases and festivals. CRDC is a five-dancer company, including Rago, Natalia Bizinha, Otis Donovan Herring, Lindsay Poulis, and Marine Salielli. "Fall in Autumn" will also feature guest dancers in various ensemble sections.

Rago states, "I create my work only when I am hit by a feeling, an emotion. It is not about dance. It is about what we feel as we dance; opening ourselves so that we may speak, receive, and offer. By opening this channel- we can hear you and you will hear our voice."

Having had the privilege to attend a preview of the upcoming premiere of "Fall in Autumn," and previously experiencing an excerpt of Rago's "Red Earth" as part of the Kat Wildish Performing in NY Fall 2011 Showcase, I can attest to Rago's knack for creating an unrelenting environment in her dances. For the dance aficionados of New York and the dance laymen, her work will have an equally valuable impact.

Performances each evening will begin at 7:30 P.M. and tickets can be purchased here for $20. The Wednesday, March 26 performance also marks the CRDC Opening Night Gala, with tickets for $50. Manhattan Movement & Arts Center is located on 248 West 60th Street. To learn more about Caterina Rago Dance Company please click here.
