Aussie expats of Atlanta and fans worldwide, the 2nd Annual AACTA Awards were held at The Star Hotel & Casino on January 30, 2013 in Sydney, Australia.
Attending were several faces that many can recognize due to their acting in American films including Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett, who wowed in a stunning red gown.
Cate Blanchett distinguished herself in a stunning cap-sleeved Armani Prive gown with a wrap front feature and black trim. Drop earrings completed the look.
Not to be outdone, Nicole Kidman chose a lovely lemongrass yellow strapless cocktail dress with silver embroidery by Erdem dress, teamed with Brian Atwood peeptoe sandals and Fred Leighton jewelry.
Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner, costars in film Hansel & Gretel, were also attending, with Gemma in a steely metallic grey gown by Vivienne Westwood, teamed with Christian Dior heels.
Another familiar face, actor Geoffrey Rush was also attending, looking dapper in his black tuxedo, posing for photographs with actress Elizabeth Debicki in her lovely beaded white gown. Elizabeth has reportedly been cast in the upcoming film The Great Gatsby.
Representing Australian film Sapphires were Director Wayne Blair, Shari Sebbens, Deborah Mailman and Jessica Mauboy. By the way, the original Sapphires, Lois Peeler, Laurel Robisnon and Beverly Briggs, were also in attendance!
Lesser known faces, though attending stylishly were Joel Edgerton (also in The Great Gatsby) and Alexis Blake, Helen Dallimore (loved the pink sequined gown!) and Abe Forsythe, Dan Wyllie, Diana Glenn, Maeve Dermody, Lachy Hulme, Ashleigh Cummings, Sybilla Budd, Jessica McNamee and Essie Davis.
