Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role

("Blue Jasmine")

Would you say that today is one of the best days of your life?

Yes. This has been an extraordinary, extraordinary unexpected week. My husband arrived this morning. I met Rita Moreno and now this [SAG Award], and Robert De Niro gave it to me. So I mean, it doesn’t get much better than that, really.

Jessica Chastain posted a photo on the Internet of you and her at this year’s Golden Globes. What did you talk about?

No comment. I don’t participate really in social media. That was extremely funny and naughty and private.

Here’s a fun question: What’s your favorite Beatles song and why?

“When I’m Sixty-Four.” [She sings parts of the song.] I just think it’s really sweet an really true. It’s the only song I know the lyrics to.

You’ve won so many awards this year. Are you worried about the baggage costs in getting them back to Australia?

I’ve had this experience where you win these things, and you come off stage, and people take them away from you straight away. So I don’t actually know if they’re in my possession, but I hope Australian customs will be kind to me.
