Stargate SG-1 characters never die; they just switch networks. Our favorite travelers of the universe have moved on from the gate room but not from the hearts of the fans. This amazing crew led by Richard Dean Anderson has been busy with current projects as well as staying close to their fans by attending conventions when possible. Richard Dean Anderson became a household name as MacGyver then stole the hearts of sci-fi fans everywhere as Colonel Jack O'Neill of SG-1. Like his co-star Michael Shanks, Anderson dreamed of becoming a professional hockey player yet thankfully for the fans, both actors found their way to acting. Now 63, Anderson has been keeping busy in the biz doing the voice for video game Stargate SG-1 Unleashed and guest spots in TV shows.
Amanda Tapping was an inspiration in her role as Major Samantha Carter in SG-1. Born in Rochford, Essex in England interesting enough won awards for the dramatic arts as well as environmental science. At 48 she has recently claimed her spot in CW’s Supernatural fandom with her role as the badass angel Naomi.
Michael Shanks has been a fan favorite with his role as Dr. Daniel Jackson from SG-1 and had a non-stop career in the industry. After bringing the character of Dr. Daniel Jackson to life on TV’s version of Stargate, he has found fame no doubt beyond his wildest dreams. At 42 Shanks has recently played a CCB agent in the film Elysium. He also brilliantly played the famed hockey player Gordie Howe in Mr Hockey: The Gordie Howe Story, and has a home playing Dr. Charlie Harris in the TV series Saving Hope.
Christopher Judge better known and loved from his SG-1 character or Teal'c from SG-1. Now 49 Judge has been keeping busy attending conventions and enjoying guest spots in a variety of TV and film projects. Born and raised in Los Angeles he always knew he wanted to be an actor. Ben Browder brought laughter and joy to the final seasons of SG-1 with his character of LT. Colonel Cameron Mitchell. Still hot at 50, Browder has been acting and treating fans to convention appearances. He even had enjoyed a dream role for him playing Isaac on the Doctor Who episode A Town Called Mercy. After earning a BS in Psychology he went on to study in London, England. Most recently he even had enjoyed a dream role playing Isaac on the Doctor Who episode A Town Called Mercy.
Claudia Black best loved as her Farscape character Officer Aeryn Sun, she brought her lovely and hilarious talent to SG-1 playing the character Vala Mal Doran in the final seasons of the show. Careful to never divulge her age, fans guess she is about 41. Latest seen in SyFy’s series Haven, she’s been enjoying success doing voices for video games.
Teryl Rothery played a fan beloved character of Dr. Janet Fraiser from SG-1. Now at still a lovely 51 years young, this Vancouver, BC born actress has a mile long filmography dating back to 1986. Plenty of tears were spilled when her character was tragically killed off. Rothery has been keeping very busy with roles in TV Series Cedar Cove, Cult, and Arrow.
