If you’ve missed any of NBC’s hit series “The Biggest Loser” you’re in luck; you can watch the complete season to its current episode which aired on March 1, 2011 in the video player to the left. Season 11 is full of surprises and excitement. In week one, viewers were introduced to the players and the mystery mounted surrounding two new trainers whose identities remained secret until week three. Week two held plenty of emotional outbursts as Irene went through a grieving process of sorts after her mother, Ana was sent home. Adding more intrigue to the mystery was the revelation that there were five teams (unknown) who were not only training with the mystery trainers, but had lost more weight than the other team. In week three the mystery trainers were identified as Brett and Cara.
Week three saw plenty of emotion as Dan opened up about his son’s death. If there is anything that viewers have learned and come to realize from watching 11 seasons of The Biggest Loser is the impact that emotional trauma and tragedy has on weight gain. It isn’t enough to just go on a fad diet, lose weight and try to continue with your life. When someone encounters a life altering, traumatic situation they have to take the time necessary to heal. It is only then that true wholeness, spiritual, emotional and physical can take place.
In week four, twins Don and Dan were under fire as they were accused of intentionally gaining weight in order to be sent home. Jillian challenged Don and tried to get him to come clean with his feelings and emotions. More emotional issues were addressed as Jillian and Courtney spoke about communication problems that Courtney has felt with her mother Marci. Jillian offered her advice and encouraged Courtney to open up to her mother. Courtney followed and confronted Marci and the two embraced.
During week five, the unknowns came to the ranch for training with the other players. Things were tense. Irene and Don admitted that they gained weight intentionally and Irene said she did it because Don wanted to go home. All agreed and Don was sent home. During the weigh in, it was determined that Larialym would be sent home as well.
The sixth week saw a record as Moses became the fasted contestant on “The Biggest Loser” to lose 100 pounds. During this week, Q was sent home.
Week seven saw Rulon and Cara as they engaged in a heated argument after Rulon failed to dedicate himself to his workout. Cara assured Rulon she wouldn’t give up on him. New trainer Brett spoke with Kaylee and got her to open up about the thing that she found most painful in her life. Kaylee opened up and said that she can’t accept herself for who she is. During week seven, Jay was eliminated and Jennifer had to say goodbye to her dad.
True to her word, Cara has not given up on Rulon and after he lost 11 pounds, she arranged a meeting during week eight with his former fight trainer. Rulon was clearly surprised when he saw his former trainer Bas Rutten and the two worked out and caught up on old times. There was another emotional twist to week eight as the parents joined forces to throw the weigh in for the purpose of keeping their children on the show. In an emotional scene that showed the sacrifices parents make for their children, Jesse was voted off the ranch. It was only fitting, then, that during week nine, the contestants returned home for a two week visit.
