Catch the 2011 Savin Rock Festival next weekend

Well, now that the weather's hot n' sticky, once again it's time for the Savin Rock Festival in Old Grove Park,West Haven,CT. This years festival will run from Thurs.,July 28th, through Sunday, July 31st, with a full concert schedule. On Thursday, July 28th, Mayor Picard will welcome one and all, followed by Caitlin Morrissey singing the National Anthem. From 6-7:30pm, the Rum Runners will take the stage, followed up by CT's premier oldies band, Flashback, playing from 8-10pm.

The following night, Friday July 29th, dubbed as Rock Tribute Night will feature The Navals, a Stevie Nicks tribute band, from 5:30-7pm. From 7-8pm, Rockin' A Heart Place will do their tribute to lady rockers from the 80's. Rockin' The Paradise-tribute to Styx(The Grand Illusion Tour) will finish out the evening.

Saturday afternoon,July 31st(Oldies But Goodies Night) will kick off with Because- A Musical Tribute To The Beatles. Doo Wop fans will then be in for a treat later on as Platinum(Doo Wop 'Till You Drop) performs from 4:30-5:30 pm, followed by The Sentinels(The Best of Doo Wop) crooning from 5:30-7pm. The Belmonts will then cap off the night with their signature style.

The festival concludes Sunday, July 31st, with 11th Avenue performing(2:30-3:30pm), Electric Bakery (A Decade Review) will then start cooking from 2:30-3:30pm, and then line dancers of all ages can enjoy Vinnie Carr and The Party Band from 4:30-6pm. Timeless will then conclude the weekend-long event, playing hits from the 70's and 80's, 7-9pm. Don't miss out on a great weekend of music-and food- next weekend!
