Catch playoff fever in Binghamton

Binghamton Mets playoff tickes go on sale Friday.
Don Rieber

After what seems like an eternity, Binghamton will again be home to playoff baseball in 2013. The last time Binghamton made a playoff run was 2004.

Going into tonight’s home game against Altoona, the B-Mets have a record of 72-44, the best record in the Double-A Eastern League and one of the best records in affiliated baseball.

With that, the B-Mets announced Thursday, that playoff tickets will be available for purchase starting Friday, August 9 at 9:00 AM. Fans can buy tickets for the 2013 playoff run at the NYSEG Stadium box office, online at or over the phone by calling (607)723-METS.

Tickets will be available for the regular box office prices of $11 for box seats or $9 for reserved grandstand seats (children 14 and under and seniors 60 and over will receive a $2 discount off each price).

Playoff tickets are undated and are simply marked “Home Playoff Game #1” or “Home Playoff Game #2”, etc. Tickets will be good whenever that game is played.

With their magic number to clinch a playoff spot down to 11, the B-Mets conclude their four-game series against the Altoona Curve at 6:35 PM. LHP Darin Gorski takes the hill against RHP David Bromberg.
