Catch a glimpse into "The Killing" with season 4 trailer

Netflix is offering viewers a glimpse into the upcoming fourth season of ‘The Killing’ with the release of a new trailer for the mystery series. The fourth season of the crime drama, which was created and executive-produced by Veena Sud, will premiere exclusively on the film and television streaming website on Friday, August 1 in all territories where available.

Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman star in the Netflix crime series, The Killing, which just released its Season 4 official trailer.

Netflix has released the following synopsis for the upcoming season of ‘The Killing’:

The fourth and final season of ‘The Killing’ picks up right after the season 3 finale. As Detective Linden (Mireille Enos) and Detective Holder (Joel Kinnaman) struggle to manage the fallout from their rash actions at the end of last season, they are assigned a new case -- a picture perfect family is murdered, survived only by the son, Kyle Stansbury (Tyler Ross), who was shot in the head during the massacre. Joan Allen guest stars this season as Colonel Margaret Rayne, the headmaster of the all-boys military academy where Kyle attends. The new season also stars Gregg Henry, Sterling Beaumon and Levi Meaden.

The trailer focuses on Detective Holder persuading Detective Linden that they have to keep their stories straight. However, she appears weary of his insistence. He tells her they only have to worry about concealing the incriminating evidence against them. The two also must contend with embarking on a violent new case, and weariness of keeping the truth hidden from their fellow officers.

Mikkel Bondesen serves as an executive producer on the series, and Kristen Campo serves as co-executive producer, for Fabrik Entertainment. ‘The Killing’ is produced by Fox Television Studios for Netflix.

The first three seasons of The Killing, which aired on AMC, are available now for Long Islanders to stream on Netflix. For more information on the crime mystery drama, visit the show’s official page on the streaming network’s website, as well as the series’ Twitter and Facebook pages.
