On last night's first of two back-to-back episodes of “Catch a Contractor,” comedian Adam Carolla and his friends, private investigator Alison Bedell and her husband Skip, a licensed home-improvement contractor, are going after the worst contractors in America. Before Adam became famous for his comedy and other endeavors, he was a contractor, so it is not so much of a stretch for him. Now, the team are on the job to hunt down the crooked people who screw over innocent people, and force them to complete the jobs they left unfinished. If they cannot find these people, they will finish the job and help the family take legal action against these swindlers on this episode titled “Un’Coop’erative Contractor.”
Adam and Skip went to meet with the Goode family. Their contractor left them in a lurch, when he was supposed to build on an addition, that included a half-bath, laundry room and a chicken coop.
When Adam and Skip met with Brandon & Brittney Goode, they had to put their family expansion plans on hold because their contractor left them with their house in shambles after they paid him the entire $9,000, the price of his bid. After four months, they finally gave up trying to reach him. When the guys checked out the job, they saw what a horrible job he left unfinished. He gave them the story that he had to go to Costa Rica for his dying mother, but his social media pages showed that he was on a cruise. Since then, he has been nowhere to be found. Alison found him in no time.
The sting was set up for him to come and check out a job for her. When he arrived, she was out front, and when he came in, Adam and Skip confronted him. He was cocky and defended his work, which was terrible and the guys pointed out the things he did improperly. When Skip would raise his voice a bit, he continued to tell him not to get loud, but obviously, he was not loud enough to get through. When Brandon & Brittney confronted him, he lamely apologized. However, it was tough to accept.
When he saw that they were removing all the previous work, he was surprised, and continued to defend his work. But this job was going to be done properly this time. When the couple returned, it was beautifully done, and from what they heard, Manny has hung up his tool belt. Now the couple can work on their next project; having a baby. Thanks to Adam, Skip and Alison, there is one more happy couple out there, as seen on this episode of “Catch a Contractor.”
