MMORPG World of Warcraft is on its fourth expansion, but getting into all of that content just got easier. On October 16, Blizzard Entertainment announced that everyone who purchases the game will now have the first three expansions (Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm) included. For only $19.99, the package that used to be known as the Battle Chest will now allow players to play through level 85 and experience all of the content that came about with Deathwing's return.
All existing accounts had previously been upgraded to include the first two expansions and have now been automatically upgraded to include Cataclysm. Besides the new zones, dungeons and raids, this also gives all players access to the Archeology profession and the Flight Master's License, which allows players level 60 and up to use flying mounts in the two major continents of Azeroth.
So, is now the time to get a friend to try the game or return to it? Not quite yet. Blizzard announced on Monday that the Recruit-A-Friend system is getting a major overhaul very soon. Just as the developers had mentioned in their recent round-table, they are expanding the reward system. In the mean time, talk it up to your friends, and if you're the one thinking of getting into the game and you see the Battle Chest in a real or virtual bargain bin, pick it up; it now can get you all the way to level 85.
