Cat Valentine’s Day plates are a top Valentine craft in Spokane

Along with the cat angel cups, these plates certainly decorate a Valentine’s Day table with jovial charm in Spokane. They have always been a huge success at children’s parties, particularly with children who love cats.

These adorable plates are very easy to make and quite inexpensive too. They add style and pizzazz to any party and show your appreciation for this romantic holiday.

The items you will need for this project are a paper plate, pain, scissors, a picture of your cat and markers.

Draw the heart shape and wing shapes onto the top of the paper plate or trace them from a picture in a magazine or coloring book.

It is easier to find the center of the plate by simply folding it in half.

The wings and the middle of the heart should meet in the center of the plate.

If you are using a pattern from a magazine or coloring book it is wise to make several copies before cutting out the shapes. Once they are cut out, just tape them to the plate so that the heart and wings are at the edge of the plate. Use a pencil and trace lightly around the patterns.

Draw a line down the middle of the heart. Fold up on the two lines to the right and left of the middle line. Crease the two outside lines back, and then pass the outside folds to the middle line and glue it closed to make the heart shape.

Paint the wings and heart shape heart and then glue the wings to the back of the heart shape.

Glue a picture of your cat in the very center of the plate.

Last of all write a valentine message on the heart.

These are so fun to make, you will undoubtedly want to make more than one, keeping several for yourself and give several more away to friends and family.
