Love felines? Then what better month to see some of the best cats the Front Range has to offer than the Valentine's Cat Show put on by the Wild Blue Yonder Cat Fanciers and the Front Range Cat Fanciers. The cat show will be held Saturday and Sunday, February 18 and 19, at the Adams County Fairgrounds in Brighton. This fully licensed Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) event will help the Cat Care Society of Lakewood.
This year's show will feature cats from a variety of breeds and will also include a Household Pet category. Judging begins at 8:30 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday. As a CFA licensed show, CFA show rules will be used. Breeders can enter their cats until February 13 or until the show limit of 225 cats is reached. For entry information, contact the Front Range Cat Fanciers on their website. Entries are taken by mail, fax or online. The Valentine's Cat Show will be held at the Exhibitions Hall on the fairgrounds.
The Front Range Cat Fanciers organization will feature a fund raising raffle. Prizes include Avalanche Tickets and official autographed hockey puck by Avs player John-Michael Liles, gift certificates to the Blue Bonnet Cafe and Carrabba's Italian Grill and various cat-centric artwork and crafts. The group is also operating a "Kitty Kafe." The Kitty Kafe be serving breakfast and lunch along with homemade treats for everyone at the show. Both events benefit the Cat Care Society.
The Front Range Cat Fanciers association is an non-profit corporation committed to supporting local feline spay and neuter programs, research to improve feline health and welfare and to education the public about feline issues. Over the past 10 years, the organization has raised over $38,350 for spay and neuter surgeries.
The Cat Care Society is a cats-only shelter that provides a safe, cage-free environment for the felines in their care while looking for responsible pet parents. They also provide education and community outreach programs to improve the lives of cats and people.
