Cat Scratch Mayhem

Cats are notorious for their independence, but on Sunday March 9, 2013 a 4 year old 22 pound Himalayan cat named Lux in Oregon took its independence to a whole different level and attacked its owner, forcing him to lock himself, his girlfriend, his baby and his dog in a bedroom and call 911. In the 911 call, Lee Palmer explains that the aggressiveness started when the cat scratched his baby's forehead after the baby pulled its tail. Lee then kicked the cat in the butt and the cat went maniacal while the family ran for their lives from the cat to their bedrooms. The baby suffered some minor scratches. The cat was heard screeching in the background of the call as Palmer yells in a frantic voice: "He's charging us. He's at our bedroom door." He also says "he's very, very hostile." Palmer also reveals to the dispatcher the cat has a history of violence. Officers used a dog snare to capture the animal, and placed it in a crate. Luckily the baby wasn't hurt during the attack. As a result of the incident, Lee Palmer is taking the cat Lux to a veterinarian and a pet psychologist is due at the house to see the cat.
