A video in which a cat saves a boy from a vicious dog attack is getting a lot of attention today. A security camera video captured the moment when a cat saved a 4-year-old boy in the area of Bakersfield, Calif. In a report released today, CNN affiliate KERO explained that the boy, Jeremy, was playing on his bicycle when the neighbor's dog, an 8-month-old labrador/chow mix, suddenly attacked the unsuspecting child, biting him and then dragging the boy by his leg.
Jeremy, who has mild autism, was completely defenseless against the dog's attack. Erika Triantafilo, Jeremy's mother, was in the yard watering a tree when she heard her son's terrifying screams. She told KERO..."I didn't really even realize what had happened until after when my husband showed me the surveillance video."
The attack, however, is short-lived as Tara, the family cat, comes to the boy's rescue and chases the dog away from her little master. Then, as seen in the video, the boy's mother makes sure the dog has left the area.
Erika told the local TV station that her son was treated at a hospital where he received several stitches for wounds to his leg. Speaking with reporters, Roger Triantafilo, Jeremy's father said...."I've never seen a cat do that. Especially ours. It just shows how much she really has a family-oriented mind set."
Roger uploaded the video to YouTube today and as of the time of this report, it has already received over 150,000 views.
They say the dog is man's best friend, but when a dog rages against a defenseless child, who comes to the rescue? The cat saves boy video shows that man's best friend is not always the dog.
