Cat of the week - Jenna at the League for Animal Welfare

Jenna is a 5 year old short-haired diluted tortie who came to the shelter as a pregnant stray. All of the babies who came to the shelter have been adopted, but Jenna is still waiting for her forever home. She can be very affectionate and loves to sit on laps. But she does not care for other cats which is why the League made a special home for her in the hall. Jenna is also on the My Last Hope program.

The My Last Hope program was established to help a select group of dogs and cats, primarily older residents, find homes. People who adopt these pets pay no adoption fee and the League continues to pay for all medical care while the pet is in their home. The adopters provide the love and the home, and the shelter covers the rest!

The League for Animal Welfare is a voluntary, nonprofit, humane organization chartered in 1949 and has operated as a no-kill shelter since 1964. Their mission is to better the lives of cats and dogs in the Greater Cincinnati area.  They provide animals with loving care and shelter until they are matched with their home.  The shelter also promotes responsible pet ownership through public education and spay/neuter programs. You can find more information about The League for Animal Welfare at www.lfaw.org or call 513-735-2299.
