A lost kitten had a narrow escape this week after it tried to run across a busy LA intersection.
Quick-thinking driver Anthony Ewart managed to brake in time to avoid the tiny white bundle of fluff as it ran across Olympic Boulevard in Hollywood.
Ewart frantically motioned for the driver in the Jeep Laredo next to him to stop as well, before getting out of his vehicle to retrieve the terrified animal.
When the kitten ran under the Jeep and crawled up into its undercarriage, Ewart called in firefighters for assistance.
Fortunately the emergency responders were able to retrieve the cat from under the SUV and carry it to safety.
'It’s tiny, it's this tiny little thing and there are cars whizzing by. And I can't even believe it survived,’ Mr Ewart told KTLA.
‘It's like that scene in Bowfinger with Eddy Murphy and the cars are going everywhere and nothing is hitting him,' he said.
The kitten, presumably minus one of its nine lives, has since been adopted by someone at the firehouse.
