Cat advocacy organization to host fundraising competitions, participants wanted

On August 30, 2014, The Crazy Cat Lady Furever Home & Pet Pantry is holding a fundraiser at the Whitman VFW from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Crazy Cat Lady's 1st Annual Chili-oke will take place in the pavilion and will feature a chili cook-off and a karaoke competition.

The Chili-oke event will have raffle tables from Tastefully Simple, Shakeology and T25, Origami Owl and Soy Candles. Each table will raffle off $50 worth of merchandise. The proceeds from the raffles will be donated to The Crazy Cat Lady Furever Home & Pet Pantry.

Competitors are wanted for both the chili cook-off and karaoke competition. Winners will be determined by most popular vote. Prizes will go to first place. If you would like to enter, please visit The Crazy Cat Lady Furever Home & Pet Pantry Facebook page and leave a message for the administrator. Deadline for entering the contests is May 31, 2014.

Nan's Deli of Weymouth will have food for sale, and a bouncy house will be available for children.

Tickets are $10 per adult, which will directly benefit The Crazy Cat Lady Furever Home & Pet Pantry, but children are free. Individuals participating in the competitions are also admitted free.

The Crazy Cat Lady Furever Home & Pet Pantry is an organization run by volunteers that aims to protect stray and unwanted cats, discourage pet abandonment by helping with pet-related care and help pet owners in the local community.
