“Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest,” as its name implies, is the second title in the “Castlevania” franchise. It was originally released on the NES in 1988. The game played very similarly to the original game, but it had a much more open world to explore. The player controls Simon Belmont as he tries to collect five body parts of Dracula. The player uses these body parts to enter the final dungeon, where Dracula is resurrected and subsequently defeated by the player.

This title has been considered to be something of a dark horse in the franchise. This is attributed primarily to the poor English translation and the fact that a majority of the game’s puzzles were nearly impossible to figure out without a guide. Despite this, the game is still quite good, and there are plenty of guides available online should the player get stuck.
