On Wednesday, ABC released a “Castle” video sneak peek so viewers can see what’s coming up on the next episode of the hit drama when it returns from its holiday hiatus.
“Castle’s” first episode of 2013, “Significant Others,” features a guest appearance from “Scandal’s” Darby Stanchfield, who plays Rick’s (Nathan Fillion) ex-wife Meredith. Their daughter Alexis (Molly Quinn) is sick with mono and Meredith has returned to take care of her. In the video, Meredith tells Castle how grateful she is that he’s letting her take this opportunity to be a good mother to Alexis since she hasn’t been a good one in the past.
But in order to do that, Meredith is staying in Castle’s apartment, which causes a problem for Beckett (Stana Katic). But judging by the video, Meredith is oblivious to the fact that Kate has issues with her being there as she happily chats about how refreshing it is that the detective is so secure in her relationship.
“Castle” returns Monday, Jan. 7 at 9 p.m. CST on ABC.
