After 24 years of serving and entertaining millions of guests from Chicago and visitors from around the world, long time Chicago nightclubs Excalibur and Vision will be replaced with a completely new multi-venue, Castle. Castle opens following a 6-month reinvention, including all-new luxurious decor, furnishings, state-of-the-art sound, lighting and special effects. The opening of Castle, located at 632 N. Dearborn in River North will be Friday, March 1, 2013.
The Castle multi-venue in Chicago has also announced its opening weekend lineup in the Palladium nightclub, the largest of the Castle's 5 new social environments, each with its own atmosphere and entertainment. The Palladium at Castle features a 3-D HD video projection mapping systems such as those recently seen during the Grammy awards, 9 curved and custom shaped LED video walls, full color light immersion lasers, and one of the first VOID sound system installations in the world.
"The surface of the DJ booth and the actual speakers that are hanging next to the stage are mapped with videos. It doesn’t look like you’re watching a video screen; you’re watching a set design that’s moving," says entertainment director Jeff Newing.
Chicago is the birthplace of house music, and Palladium at Castle proudly opens its first night to the public with one of the world's foremost names in House music, Grammy Award winning producer, remixer and DJ: Roger Sanchez on Friday, March 1st.

Castle contains 5 different social environments, each with its own atmosphere and entertainment. The street level Castle Craft Pub & Eatery serves a wide variety of high quality sharable items, featuring hand-tossed Neapolitan pizza as well as handmade sandwiches and chef-inspired small plates, microbrew draft beers and handcrafted cocktails. The atmosphere is that of a regal English pub, with comfortable bar seating, cozy booths, and living room lounge pits across various areas of the pub, as well as billiard tables in the lower level.
