'Castle' season finale air date revealed, and episode numbering clarified

It’s a confusing system sometimes, that television episode numbering. When it was first announced on March 12 that episode 5x24 of “Castle” would be called “Still”, and feature a bombing and bomb disposal squad, the fandom started spinning their wild theories. Would the 12th Precinct be blown up? Would Beckett finally confess her love to an injured/dying Castle? Well, according to some tweets from executive producer Terri Miller on March 19, turns out “Still” isn’t the season finale at all. The actual finale is still not titled and will be airing on May 13.

Initially, “Castle” was only going to have another 23-episode season. When ABC ordered a 24th episode, that additional episode became the 24th episode that they would be producing, hence it’s technically numbered 5x24, even if the as yet untitled episode 5x23 will be airing as the 24th of the season. (Did all of that make sense?)

ABC announced the dates for primetime season finales on March 20, and the “Castle” season finale will be airing on May 13. Now that the confusion with “Still” has been cleared up, we basically know next to nothing about the finale anymore, other than that it will be another emotional one, and some big questions might be raised about their relationship's future. Andrew Marlowe told TV Guide recently, “We've spent four and a half years really unpeeling who Beckett is, but we haven't learned a lot about Castle. We want to have Beckett look at that and wonder what kind of relationship she's going to be in if he is withholding stuff. To what extent can he open up and be secure enough with her?” This, naturally, leads to some speculation that there may be conflict ahead for our dynamic duo. Fortunately, leading lady Stana Katic is quick to calm those fears:

“There are some mini bumps, but there is some high-stakes stuff that brings them even closer."

Add all of the above with the even more recent teasers about the 100th episode, and it looks like we're in for quite a ride with Caskett in these final episodes of the season. What do you all think is going to happen between these two before the season is over?
