As "Castle" fans are sure to remember, season 5 ended with Castle (Nathan Fillion) proposing to Beckett (Stana Katic)—as their relationship seemed to be on shaky ground. So what comes next? A new promo that was released on Monday, Aug. 26, teases how she'll respond.
In the "Castle" season 5 finale, Castle's wasn't the only proposal Beckett received. She also had a job offer on the table, one that would take her to DC and would feature "the kind of work you were meant to be doing," Gates (Penny Johnson Jerald) told her. It was a job that Beckett wanted, but taking it would mean changes, professionally and personally. Could she leave her job with NYPD behind? Could she leave Castle behind?
"What if all we were in love with was the dance?" Beckett wondered as she discussed the job offer with her father. She knew that taking the job would mean having to have a conversation with Castle about where their relationship was going. In the end, they met on the swings, and frankly, the beginning of that conversation seemed to point to a breakup. "You don't let people in. I've had to scratch and claw for every inch," he told her. "I've been doing a lot of thinking about us, about our relationship, what we have, where we're headed. I've decided I want more. We both deserve more." The make it or break it moment, as we called it in our review, had come, and that was when Castle proposed.
So how is Beckett going to react? The promo to the left teases just that as she stumbles over her shock and answer. Finally, she tells him, "There's something that I have to tell you." What is she going to say next? What will it mean for Castle and Beckett's future?
"Castle" season 6 airs Mondays at 10 p.m., beginning Sept. 23. What do you think of the latest preview?
