Castle’s dad Jackson Hunt is back. Of course this means the case is going to be cryptic, and that the writers will tell you a lot of things and expect you to go with it. Don’t get me wrong, there are some good things about Jackson being back. However, in terms of the case, his presence complicates things. Basically everything is connected to the CIA. While the NYPD answers some of the questions, Jackson fills in the rest. There isn’t much time given to think or discuss things. Once it’s been said, the writers move onto the next piece of the puzzle. Personally, I prefer to watch a case play out while following around the detectives as they solve the case. The here’s how it is scenes are okay with the minor details, but not for motive and all the big ones. Did you enjoy the case or not so much?
Jackson Hunt is a very, very confusing man. He does seem to want the best for his family, but at the same time, the job comes first. It is hard to figure out how you feel about him. On the one hand, you want to be like Castle and believe the best, but it’s hard not to see it from Beckett’s point of view. The best part of Jackson being in this episode is all the scenes with Martha and Castle. They open up more to each other, and the writers don’t show enough of Martha being serious and compassionate like she is in this episode with Castle. Typically, Martha pops in for the beginning or end of the episode briefly, offering up laughs. On the laugh front, the surgery scene is absolutely hilarious. Did you enjoy seeing more of Martha?
