'Castle' ratings for 'Probable Cause' mark highest repeat numbers since 2011

ABC's "Castle" was a repeat episode last night, but that didn't stop the crime drama from winning the 10 p.m. hour for the third week in a row on Monday night, and posting its best repeat numbers in almost two years.

Episode 5x05 "Probable Cause", which saw Richard Castle framed for murder by serial killer Jerry Tyson, a.k.a. "3XK", saw an audience of 6.8 million viewers on March 4, and a rating of 1.4 in the 18-49 key demographic. To compare, "Castle" competitors "Deception" and "Hawaii Five-0" on NBC and CBS saw numbers of 5.6 million (1.3) and 3.3 million (1.1), respectively. The "Castle" repeat numbers even more than doubled NBC's brand new episode of "Deception" by a difference of +106%. These ratings only serve to further prove that "Castle" has a very strong core fan base for both new and old episodes alike. You can see the full press release from ABC here.

On the topic of "Castle" repeats, cable channel TNT has got you covered today with three consecutive episodes from season 4 ("47 Seconds", "The Limey", "Headhunters") airing tonight starting at 4 p.m ET. These three episodes mark the beginning of the rift between Castle and Beckett that was finally resolved and resulted in their coupling in the season 4 finale episode "Always".

"Castle" on ABC will be returning from hiatus on March 18 with brand new episode "Scared to Death". Stay tuned for more information on the episode as it's made available.
