Michelle Twohey, a popular divorce lawyer, is found murdered in her car. Divorce cases are always entertaining, well at least on TV that is, and the ones that our favorite NYPD crime solvers look into are no exception. It would have been nice to look at more of Michelle’s cases from a police standpoint, meaning more of Ryan or Esposito stating facts about her work. The scene where Beckett and Castle interview Samantha and Walter is great, but mostly it serves as a comedic scene and an introduction to Walter. Did you love the smash off that Walter and Samantha had?
Michelle’s murder has a cold case connection. As it turns out, she was investigating the disappearance and assumed death of Leann Piper, a former client of hers. This is a great twist to add to this case. Originally it isn’t too exciting, but after the Piper case is brought up, there is a level of intrigue and suspense added to the show. Strangely no one really looks up the police files on the case; instead they follow Michelle’s lead by going to the DEA. Did you enjoy the twist?
Castle makes the mistake of allowing his ex-wife, Meredith to stay with him. This is a great humorous side storyline. The writers do a great job by making sure the whole team weighs in on this situation. Lanie and Beckett get some much needed girl time to talk about this, and Ryan and Esposito offer words of warning for Castle. What’s even better is that Meredith poses an unexpected problem for Caskett. She lets Beckett know why her marriage to Castle didn’t work – he didn’t share enough of himself. Judging by Beckett’s reaction, she is concerned about this. Did you enjoy Meredith’s stay?
