Castle: “She was thrown against the ceiling? That is a superhuman feat bordering on the physical impossible.”
Castle: “Isn’t it obvious? Madison made the Hulk angry.”
The writers typically do a good job of having a personal storyline to accompany the case of the week. Recently it seems like the writers don’t do enough with whatever side storyline the episode has. This episode is a good example. Castle attended the high school that the victim attended. There are funny moments with Castle and the principle, and Beckett and Castle chat about their high school experiences. What’s missing is including Ryan and Esposito. Yes, the relationship between Castle and Beckett is one of the big relationships of the show. However, Castle’s relationship with the rest of the precinct, especially with Ryan and Esposito, is important as well. It would not have been difficult for the writers to include Ryan and Esposito in on the high school memories moment or even had them and Castle reliving pranks they did. It would have made the episodes a lot better. Ryan and Esposito are great to watch, but sometimes the writers focus too much on the Caskett side of things. What are your thoughts? Do you wish Castle had more scenes with Ryan and Esposito?
Speaking of Caskett, in this installment of wedding planning, the focus is on the music. As it turns out, they don’t really have a song. It is great to see both Beckett and Castle’s take on what their song is. This is a way for the writers to give viewers a glimpse into Beckett and Castle’s relationship that haven’t been shown on TV before. Does anyone else think it is a little weird that they discover their song while at a high school prom? It will be a strange story to tell. However, seeing them dance together is cute, especially if you ignore the high schoolers dancing around them. Should they get a band or a DJ for the wedding?
