Castle Casting Scoop: Josh Stamberg to join February sweeps two-parter

Chicago Code alum Josh Stamberg has been cast in the upcoming Castle two-parter set to air sometime in February during sweeps.

According to Castle creator, Andrew Marlowe, Stamberg will be playing the role of “an intelligence officer that ends up being very important to the case”.

Stamberg is the second guest star to be revealed for the episode, the first being Jennifer Beals, who's role as a CIA operative was revealed back in mid-December.

The plot of the as-yet untitled episode appears to mostly center around Beal's character, Sophia Conrad, as she attempts to track down a former Navy Seal gone rogue. How Castle and Beckett get thrown into the mix has yet to be revealed.

Stamberg is one of many guest stars to have graced the set of Castle two-parters, the first having been Dana Delany, who played FBI Special Agent Jordan Shaw in Season 2's "Tick, Tick, Tick..." and "Boom!", and Adrian Pasdar, whom played the role of Homeland Security agent Mark Fallon in Season 3's "Setup"/"Countdown".
