“Castle” is about to get even more exciting as Rick’s MIA father will finally make his appearance in February. TV Line has confirmed on Jan. 22 that actor James Brolin will be playing this mysterious character on the ABC hit show.
During February sweeps, the two part event is set to have an investigation into a murder that also involves a plot to kidnap the daughter of a wealthy Middle Eastern businessman. The two shows will air on Feb. 18 and Feb. 25. “Nip/Tuck” actor Dylan Walsh also guest stars in both episodes as a professional who teams up with Castle and Beckett to help find the kidnappers.
Brolin is best known for his Emmy award winning role on “Marcus Welby, MD.” He has a long history of TV and movie roles with his most recent spots on “The Defenders” and “Law & Order: SVU.” He is also married to songstress Barbra Streisand since 1998. The grey-haired fox seems like a perfect choice to play Rick's dad.
As for the father and son reunion, Rick grew up not knowing his dad but in a previous episode, bad girl Sophia had told the mystery writer that his dad had enough clout to get him access into the CIA. We knew that hint would somehow come into play eventually. How will the older Castle reveal himself to his son? And how will Kate play into all of this? Stay tuned for a wild ride next month on “Castle.”
