The latest homicide to cross Beckett’s desk involves the US Attorney’s office, aka where Gates’ sister Elizabeth works. While Elizabeth does not work side by side with the NYPD, Gates does call her in to provide frequent updates. It is not necessary for Elizabeth to be there all the time, but anytime she pops up, it is entertaining. The connection with the US Attorney’s office is what makes this case interesting. Anytime interagency cooperation has to happen, things get messy and fun. What did you think of the case?

Speaking of Gates’ sister, it is absolutely fantastic to get some backstory on her. The fact that it blended in with the case made it even better. Gates and her sister Elizabeth don’t exactly get along, basically because they both are dedicated to their job. Aside from all the great sister moments, another fantastic scene happens between Gates and Beckett. Gates opens up about what caused the rift between her and her sister, and opening up is not something Gates does ever. It is great to see this side of her. Also, it is fantastic to see the squad all gossiping about Gates and Elizabeth. What are your thoughts on Gates and her sister?

Castle and Beckett have decided to shift gears from searching for the perfect venue to settling on a guest list. This turns out to be harder than they thought, and things don’t help when Martha mentions her own list. Personally I have been wanting the writers to include Ryan or Esposito a little bit more in the wedding plans, so the brief conversation that Castle and Beckett have with Ryan made me happy. Ryan has recently been married, so hopefully they will continue to ask his opinion on things. There still needs to be some wedding planning with Lanie or at least a storyline where Beckett asks her to be her maid of honor. Did you enjoy the latest in the wedding planning saga?
