Janice Owens Lewison, owner of Organic Talent Management and Lewison Casting of Houston Texas, is now the Casting Associate for The Prodigal Film. Janice will be providing Extras Casting, casting supporting roles, and assisting with product placement for The Prodigal Film.

The Prodigal will be filming (DATES NOT SET YET) in the Houston area (Woodlands) and near the San Antonio and Alpine areas. This is a SAG/AFTRA project which Houston and San Antonio fall into the SAG/AFTRA exclusion zones which requires all extras to reside (have an address) within 100 mile radius of filming (in this case Houston or San Antonio), unless the extra has a unique look or talent needed in the film.
COMPENSATION, SAG/AFTRA ELIGIBILITY
Actors will be paid SAG/AFTRA rates currently $139 per day. Snacks, sandwiches and drinks will be provided. Filming days can be 12-14 hours, so extras must be committed more.
As an bonus it is the casting departments goal to try where possible to schedule extras to be on set for at least three days which will allow the actor to become SAG/AFTRA eligible.
FILM CREDITS
We believe in giving credit where credit is due. Unless we are breaking some law or rule somewhere, extras will not be given credits on IMDb but may appear on the closing credits of the film. Featured extras may appear on the IMDb page but not guaranteed.
WHERE TO SUBMIT.
Mail a hard copy of your most current head shot/resume to our Extras Casting Director, Janice Lewison. It does not need to be an 8 x 10, if you do not have a CURRENT one. A 4x6 or 5 x 7 will work. The Prodigal Film, an updated film version of the classic story, has been creating a lot of buzz in its pre-production stage. The Story of The Prodigal Film is about Josh Summers, a reckless teen from an upper middle-class family who runs his life on high octane, assumes everything, and believes his family and the entire world owes him. Soon Josh's bad choices create a series of bad consequences and Josh's entire world unravels all around him, leaving a path of death and destruction. With family connections severed by his own undoing, Josh begins a four year journey of self-discovery.
Discharged out of the U.S. Army for crimes he has not committed, Josh travels as far away as he can from his troubles and winds up working on a South Texas ranch in the midst of economic hard times brought on by a severe drought and the drug cartel's war along the border. Here trouble still follows Josh; but and through the turmoil and tragedy, Josh experiences the power of redemption and is exonerated by an Army Judicial Review.
This is a classic, universal story with an epic Texas feel, high action drama, and plenty of unexpected twists and turns. It is not a preachy-film, but it is about the following in life: making the right choices, the power of forgiveness, and redemption. Already, test readers have told the producers how The Prodigal Film has changed their everyday lives. Audiences will quickly be able to identify with the character of The Prodigal and other characters as well.
Production budget is set at $12 million. The film will be shot on RED Epic.
