As all “Grey’s Anatomy” fans know by now, the midseason finale will center on April’s wedding to Matthew, the hunky EMT. When April Kepner’s dad walks her down the aisle, the actress – Sarah Drew – will actually be on the arm of her real life dad, Rev. Charles Drew according to a Dec. 4 report on Wetpaint. Episode 12, “Get Up, Stand Up” will air Thursday, Dec. 12.
This isn’t the first time that Sarah’s dad has been honored in the show. Earlier this season, in episode 8 to be precise, April and Matthew went to a premarital compatibility test and the pastor who counseled them was named Reverend Drew in honor of Sarah’s dad. The show’s writers actually telephoned him for tips on premarital counseling they could use in the storyline.
The actor, who played Rev. Drew, Sean Abbott, will return in episode 12, most likely to perform the wedding ceremony.
So the real world Rev. Drew will escort his real world daughter/TV daughter down the aisle where the TV version Rev. Drew will perform the ceremony. Is your head spinning yet?
