CAST presents Frost/Nixon as politicians start the new year

As American leadership is about to be sworn in, the Carolina Actors Studio Theatre (CAST) opens the new year with a play with a political theme, “Frost/ Nixon.”

CAST's intimate Gilweit Theater is an apt venue to experience the interplay between actors Hank West as David Frost and Lamar Wilson as Richard Nixon depicting 2 powerful men trying to resurrect their public images.

Former president Richard Nixon, in a period of disgrace after the Watergate scandal, has consented to lengthy one-on-one interviews with British journalist David Frost, himself trying to reclaim his position as a media maven to be taken seriously. Each intends to best the other, and the tale, based on truth, is woven with tension and humor.

A silent auction is offered for theater goers, who may bid on themed collectibles including signed photos and Watergate ashtrays, displayed in the CAST lobby.

Making a run through January 27, 2013, tickets for “Frost/Nixon” are $18 for students, $22 for seniors and $28 for adults.
