Today, the cast for Star Wars: Episode VII was announced by Disney’s Twitter account.

There have rumors circulating since the day that they announced Episode VII about who would be in it and fans can finally know the truth about which actors will appear in it. The new names include John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver (Lincoln), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Andy Serkis (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Domhall Gleeson (About Time), and Max von Sydow (Shutter Island).

But perhaps the best news is the returning cast that will return which include big names Harrison Ford (Obi Wan Kanobi), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and Kenny Baker (R2-D2).

While the list of new actors are relatively unknown names, with the mix of returning cast, it should be fun to watch the story unfold on the big screen. We don’t know much about the movie, but considering the returning names, it should probably be the after effects of what happened in Episode VI. We don't know any of the new characters and what parts the new actors will play, but it should fit in with whatever it is they have planned.

Director J.J. Abrams quoted in the short release saying, “It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring the world to life, once again.”

Star Wars Episode VII is set to star shooting in the coming weeks with an expected release day of December 18, 2015.
