According to an Oct. 6 tweet from world-renowned WMMA reporter Arron Pegson, Cassie Crisano's scheduled bout against Valérie Létourneau was canceled because the American had an issue with selected officials present on the night of the fight.

Crisano, 33, was supposed to fight Létourneau on Oct. 5 at Québec Mixed Martial Arts League 1 in Québec City, Québec, but withdrew from the match after she was asked her to do something she says would have been degrading to herself and her team.

In an exclusive interview with Long Island MMA Examiner Eric Holden, Crisano opened up about the situation.

"I would like to apologize to all of my fans, sponsors, friends, family, ATT and to my opponent, Valerie Letourneau for not being able to perform on October 5th at LAMMQ," Crisano stated. "There were several issues that myself and my team had with selected officials present before and on the night of the fight.

"These issues that I am unable to specify at this time were personally degrading to myself, my team and went against my personal beliefs of how an individual competing in a professional organization should be treated. These issues are what prevented me from competing at LAMMQ on October 5th and was overall the cause of the canceled bout.

"Again, I would like to sincerely apologize to all of my supporters and sponsors that entrusted me to represent them and or their brand. I promise you that I will be back very soon and hungrier than ever."

Crisano vs Létourneau was supposed to be a bantamweight bout on the promotion's inaugural card.

Létourneau has not fought since she suffered a close loss to current Invicta FC contender Claudia “Claudinha” Gadelha in Apr. 2012, while Crisano was coming off a decision loss to Andria Wawro at CFFC 22 in March.
