Cassadee Pope emerged as the winner of season 3 of The Voice and rose to fame quickly. With an all new reality series ‘Frame By Frame’ on CMT, and new record of the same name, she takes some time out of her busy schedule on the road touring with Rascal Flatts to bring some light on what’s been happening in her life since that day on The Voice where her world changed forever. This is Cassadee Pope Frame by Frame.
On the new album
My goal was to have songs that I wanted people to have fun with it, and dance and listen to it all loud in their cars with the windows down; and some of them to really tug at their heart strings like with ‘Eleven’ I went back to my parent’s divorce and I got really personal and that is the emotional bond of the album, and the rest are about love and heartbreak and all the typical things we all go through in life. So I think the main goal was to write songs that people can relate to; I wrote five of the eleven and then I wrote the two bonus tracks on the deluxe version available at Target.
On if she was in The Voice judges’ chair if she would have turned around for herself
That is a very interesting question, (laughs) you know after watching it back I think I would have, I think I did a good job, definitely there were parts that I wasn’t that happy with because I’m very critical of myself I never think anything is perfect! I loved my song choice I loved doing ‘Torn’ and I think it was a good choice because it was the kind of song that wasn’t that new, but it’s old enough for people to say, oh I love that song and I remember what I was doing when I first heard that song! It was just the kind of song that people get into so I think I would have turned too I thought everyone would love it, that’s why I did it! I never got that question that was pretty cool. It’s nice to be surprised!
On her new reality series ‘Frame by Frame’ on CMT
They actually are done filming it the first episode aired last week and the next ones on tomorrow. I think it’s really different, never thought I would have my own show with cameras following me around it took some getting used to, and once I got used to it and excepted they were part of my life, it was really cool I realized how cool that whole experience was, because people never really get a look into how you get your music out there and see how your music gets out on the radio. I get excited about people seeing that, I took advantage of the situation and I have my web camera a lot and I film my confessional,; just me and a digital camera in a room somewhere and I just play to the audience whatever they like and that’s my favorite part about the show; It’s raw and gritty and some of them shots aren’t the most attractive and most flattering (laughs) but that’s the whole point. I really wanted the fans to see what I’m going through, through this experience.
On favorite songs on the new album
I find myself changing that every single day but at the moment it’s ‘Everybody Sings.’
On the VH1 Big Morning Buzz experience
It was amazing I loved that set, it was so beautiful and the fact that it was the same place where TRL used to be that was really special to me; I had the pleasure being on that show, and this was the same place. It turned out really well, I had a great time. I didn’t really answer any questions in particular we just had a conversation, I had a great time.
